Buildbase NW200 Ducati man John Laverty looks to be out of this weekend's British Superbike action at Knockhill this weekend after a first practice crash has left him with broken ribs. He also knocked himself out in the fall.
Laverty, who races in the Daily Star Superbike Cup, had been as high as ninth on the timesheets with a sub-50s lap, but the highside at Hislops has put paid to any further participation.
An NW200 Ducati team spokesman said: "He is very disappointed as he felt the bike was was great. We are hoping he will be back to some sort of fitness for Cadwell."
MSS Kawasaki's Stuart Easton has also withdrawn. After completing this morning's free practice session, he doesn't feel he is yet fit enough to be competitive. The team's Superstock rider Steve Mercer will join Billy McConnell on the second bike.
James Ellison, Chris Burns, Cal Crutchlow and Shannon Etheridge also lobbed it.
Dan Cooper, who rides for Centurion Honda, also knocked himself out on the way to a dislocated shoulder in the first Supersport free practice, while Honda's Steve Brogan slid off in the second Supersport session.
