MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Gary Mason has put his front-row qualifying performance for tomorrow's British Superbike double-header at Knockhill squarely at the feet of new crew chief, and ex World Supersport Champion, Andrew Pitt.
The Lichfield rider, who was in the top echelon for all three sessions, will line-up on the front row with Hopkins, Hill and Rutter for company but says it was mostly down to the experience of his new spanner twirler.
"To say I am over the moon is an understatement but it's all down to Andrew and the team. He had every strategy ready for us for every tyre and every scenario, all I had todo was ride the thing," said Mason, speaking to bikesportnews.com this evening from a secret location.
"It's awesome to be on the front row especially here as it's a hard track to pass and you don't want to get caught up in the melee that can happen going into Duffus Dip sometimes. It's head down and podium tomorrow."
