Tyco Honda's Tommy Bridewell will ditch his electronics in the first British Superbike free practice session at Knockhill on Friday and go back to basics to find a good setup with plenty of mechanical grip instead of trying to rely on the complex rider aids.
Weather permitting, Bridewell says he wants to figure out why he can't find any edge grip and why his bike seems to wheelspin exiting fast corners when team-mate Peter Hickman's is solid and stable in both wet and dry conditions.
"I'm really struggling to find a reason for the problems. I have tried modifying how much throttle to put in but all that happens is the electronics stop any power going to the rear wheel, so I'm not going forward," said the Devises swearbox, speaking to bikesportnews.com this morning.
"Turning off all the aids and finding some grip the old fashioned way is the only think I can think of doing. I have asked a couple of people for their help and I've got some ideas for the weekend, so we will see what happens."
