Quattro Kawasaki’s Dan Linfoot left his opening three-days of MCE British Superbike pre-season testing at Spain’s Almeria circuit pleased with both his pace over a lap and his consistency on a used race tyre.
The Yorkshire drinking straw was third on the overall timesheets but more importantly, was able to keep in the 1’36s laptime bracket for a medium length number of laps. He now needs to take that pace to the next set of tests at Donington Park this Tuesday.
“Overall it was a pretty good test. The most important thing is that I am comfortable with the new bike and we’ve got a good base setting but I was also very pleased with my times on a used race tyre too,” said Linfoot, while speaking to bikesportnews.com from the new home he his sharing with girlfriend Carly, mistaken in the belief he will ever get to watch anything he wants to on television ever again.
“The ZX-10R is a good package and the team have put a good bike under me so now I need to reward them. I think the pace here should be indicative of how we can start and then get quicker in the next tests in Britain.”
