Oulton BSB: Bridewell will ride through the pain

Bathams Honda rider Tommy Bridewell hopes his injured leg will hold out for the MCE British Superbike qualifying session later this afternoon. The Devizes rider was involved in an epic crash at the previous round at Thruxton, but is determined to ride through the pain at Oulton Park.

Bridewell managed to complete seventeen laps of the circuit in the final free practice session earlier today, and was a respectable sixth fastest overall. But for the Englishman, today is all about getting some much needed track time, and to make it into the top ten in qualifying.

“For me I want to string a few more laps together, and I want to get my leg a bit stronger and hopefully it will be alright. I want to get a bit more consistency and hopefully we can fire up a bit stronger in the races tomorrow, and ideally get a decent qualifying under our belts,” said Bridewell, speaking to bikesportnews.com at the circuit.

Bridewell is well aware that tomorrow is going to be a challenge, as he is still experiencing pain in his leg. He is not thinking about the two races on Monday, as for the rider, being comfortable on his bike is his main priority.

“We want to be there or there a bouts in the races tomorrow, but it is not going to be easy, but I just have to hang in there and hopefully I will be there till the end. It would nice to be top ten in qualifying but it is not ideal. I have no expectations just want to go out there and be comfortable, and on a pain scale of one to ten my leg at the moment is an eight and a half.”
