Stuart Hicken's Buildbase BMW team have enlisted the help of factory chassis wizard and former World Superbike front-runner Peter Goddard to help them get the most of their S1000RRs at this weekend's Oulton Park British Superbike round.
The team are only running Ian Lowry this weekend as John Laverty is still feeling the effects of the crash last weekend which saw him lose the tip of a finger and have flown Goddard in to help with sorting out mechanical grip. Lowry is currently down in 22nd place, some three seconds off the pace.
"He's here to give us a hand with the chassis in order to get the most from the bike before we start bringing in the electronic side of things. It's a fast enough wee bike but there's some work to do with the setup," said Lowry, speaking to bikesportnews.com this lunchtime.
