GBmoto Kawasaki’s team owner Mark Smith-Halvorsen has told bikesportnews.com that injured rider James Ellison could 'possibly' make a return to racing at the next MCE British Superbike round at Cadwell Park.
Ellison suffered a crash during the fifth round at Brands Hatch and suffered a substantial leg injury. After an operation he is now on the road to recovery and is undergoing an extensive treatment programme that involves daily visits to the hyperbaric chamber on the Isle of Man. He has missed two rounds so far, including this weekend at Oulton Park.
“James’ recovery is going really well. He checked himself out of hospital after five days, and is still in the Isle of Man and is having hyperbaric chamber treatment. If he carries on recovering at the rate that he is now then Cadwell is a possibility,” said Smith-Halvorsen, speaking to bikesportnews.com.
“If he has any mishaps or his rate of recovery slows down then he should be back for Donington. James injuring himself quite badly at round five at Brands Hatch is a blow – but we know he will bounce back stronger.”
