Oulton BSB: ‘Consistency’ the key for Lowes

Samsung Honda's Alex Lowes took pole position and a lap record at Oulton Park this afternoon, but understands that both races tomorrow are where he needs to show his pace. Consistency will be the key for the pole setter tomorrow, but admitted the fact he is yet to take a victory this season, which isn't on his mind.

"It's nice to be on pole, but tomorrow is where I need to be fast. I'm still working on my consistency. In practice we've got the consistency but doing it in practice and doing it in the race are two completely different things. Obviously, I used to just be good over a lap but now I've proved I can do it in the races as well. We were able to improve the bike today but I can't get too excited. We need a good couple of results tomorrow," said Lowes, speaking to bikesportnews.com this evening.

"Shakey is going to be strong tomorrow, he's got the bike working well. Ellison on the Yamaha is always strong too as that bike seems to be the best for looking after it's tyres. There's no reason why we can't win though. I need to make sure I'm improving the bike and myself and I need to make sure I'm in the showdown, so that win isn't on my mind. If I use my head though, the win is going to come."
