Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki’s Stuart Easton was in contention for a podium finish during the final MCE British Superbike race at Oulton Park yesterday, but just missed out and had to settle for fifth instead.
The Scot has improved on his recent form, but it is still not enough for the rider, and he is still not feeling completely comfortable out on the bike. Even though he had the pace to match the front runners he feels that he could have done more to battle for the rostrum.
“I still feel like we have got a lot of work to do with the general set up and I am not 100 percent comfortable. I think a lot of that race was that the conditions were a bit sketchy and the lap times were pretty poor so I am not getting over excited about it,” said Easton, speaking to bikesportnews.com from the track.
Easton has slipped out of Showdown contention, and currently lies eighth in the overall standings, but he hopes he can get back to finishing on the podium when it comes to the next round at Cadwell Park.
“A sixth and a fifth is a good run and I am satisfied with that and we are moving in the right direction. But we did as good as everyone else. We haven’t made any huge changes but just a little but here and there and I just want to find the sweet spot. We have a week off now and then we go to Cadwell which is kind of similar to here and I like the jump there too.”
