John Hopkins 1'35.803

Swan Yamaha's Tommy Hill continued his British Superbike dominance at Oulton Park this afternoon, bagging pole position and smashing the lap record with a 1'35.175-lap which was three-tenths faster than second-placed man and team-mate Michael Laverty.

Samsung Suzuki's John Hopkins left it until his final lap to grab a front-row slot which pushed the Motorpoint Yamaha of Loris Baz into fourth and Josh Brookes onto the second row. He is joined by MSS Kawasaki's Stuart Easton, Shane Byrne and James Westmoreland.

HM Plant Honda's Ryuichi Kiyonari suffered a problem in the first few minutes and could only muster ninth fastest while Michael Rutter is tenth. Alex Lowes is the leading Evo rider in 12th with Glen Richards second (14th) and Simon Andrews third (19th).

Qualifying two

Tommy Hill 1'35.553

Stuart Easton 1'35.749

Michael Laverty 1'35.968

As with the first session, the Swan Yamahas dominated but this time were split by the Kawasaki of Easton with Hopkins in fourth but the story was at the other end of the table.

Brookes was the only front runner to go out on the soft SC0 and only clawed his way into the final session with his final lap, going into ninth which put Baz out, but then the Frenchman hopped into seventh with his last effort, which put out Sorrymate Honda's Dan Linfoot. Samsung Suzuki's Jon Kirkham was also put out, as was Gary Mason.

Qualifying one

Michael Laverty 1'35.772

Tommy Hill 1'35.849

Stuart Easton 1'36.349

Laverty and Hill were the only men to dip into the 1'35s bracket throughout the first session but a storming lap by Linfoot saw him chasing hard and he was only narrowly beaten by Easton for third spot.

It was Lowes, however, on the Evo-spec Fireblade who made everyone sit up, lapping in 1'36.434 and setting the fifth fastest time ahead of the full Superbike Hondas of Byrne and Kiyonari.

Lowry just rescued himself from the drop zone with his final lap and put Andrews in the danger area but neither Steve Brogan or Scott Smart had the pace to pull themselves into the top 20 and dropped out.
