Oulton BSB: 'I could fight for the podium' - Baz

Motorpoint Yamaha's wunderkind Loris Baz reckons he could fight for a podium position in tomorrow's British Superbike double header at Oulton Park after securing a front-row start in qualifying.

The young Frenchman was just pipped to third place by Samsung Suzuki's John Hopkins in the last seconds of qualifying but is confident he can put up a good fight for the honours.

"I am happy with a front row start here, my first one too so that is a great result. In the first qualifying session I was a bit nervous for some reason and I didn't go so well, so when I came in I calmed down and then I was able to go faster," said Baz.

"Tommy and Michael are very fast here but I want to try and stay with them at the front because I think we could fight for the podium here tomorrow. We will have to see, but I am happy and want to race now!"
