Motorpoint Yamaha's James Westmoreland is looking for a calm and steady time at this weekend's British Superbike round Oulton Park and intends to 'keep his brain in' after crashing out of both Brands Hatch races a week ago.
The British Supersport runner-up, who graduated to the big class this year, failed to finish both outings after posting a fastest time in practice that would have put him second on the grid in 2010.
"I'm keeping my brain in this weekend, that's for sure. I got so revved up last weekend I must have thought I could win both races, which clearly I couldn't," said Westmoreland, speaking to bikesportnews.com this lunchtime from the comfort of his hat.
"The time we got was good enough for a front-row last year so we can ride the bike, no questions there, we just need to race it. I intend to remain calm all weekend and just build up consistency. It's no good trying to chase the other guys here, all you do is end up going backwards."
