Karl Harris is a man without luck. If he isn't breaking down he is being knocked off, and if that isn't happening then something else is going wrong.
At OultonPark British Superbike today, Harris's Rob Mac Racing Yamaha was running right up at the front when he ran wide at Shell Oils Hairpin. He pulled the bike back only to find Shane Byrne's Airwaves Ducati in the space he should have been occupying.
The resulting crash saw Harris in the dirt and Byrne carrying on to the podium. There was no hard feelings between the two and Byrne gave Harris a lift back to the pits. However, repesctive team managers McElnea and Colin Wright had a row in pitlane, and the incident was investiated by the circuit officials, with Race Director Stuart Higgs saying the outcome was judged to be a racing incident.
Race two saw Harris right up there again only for his rear Pirelli to go off halfway through and he scythed his way back to ninth.
“I’m almost speechless. What a dramatic turn around to my weekend," said Harris. "Yet again I seem to be faced with some of the worst luck out there. Race one saw Shakey put in a very ambitious move, which resulted in me falling off, luckily I was unhurt but never the less, I didn’t get to prove my worth. I was making  progress in race two but struggling with a bit of grip, by mid race I had nothing and my race was over.”
