OULTON BSB: MOLLOY GLAD TO BE IN SUPERSTOCK

Grant Molloy finished in the points at Oulton Park over the weekend in only his second weekend riding for Quattro Plant Honda in the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 Championship.
The Enniskillen rider was the given the opportunity to team with Steve Heneghan to double their attack on the title.  Molloy returns to the British track after taking part in the European GSXR Cup in 2008.
Molloy has spent the past two years in a make series and now takes on the challenge of a mixed category, but has the support of a reliable, dedicated sponsor and experienced team mate.
Molloy said: “I wanted to make the move to Superstock, I met Steve [Heneghan] through Maria [Costello], we talked and I got an offer.  We’ve also got the support of Quattro Plant.  I am really enjoying it, it’s much harder work, you have to do a lot more and it’s about finding the right settings, gearing and so on, but I am enjoying it.”
“It is a tough championship, I am definitely maturing and improving, not just round by round but each session that I am out on track.  I keep learning the track and build on it piece by piece to get a lap strung together.  I haven’t done any testing and I haven’t been at this track since 2007 when I was in the R6 Cup.”
It was a successful weekend for Molloy whose goal was to get in to the 1’42s and finish in the top 20 moving up to the top 15 at the end of the season.  Molloy lowered his time by three seconds getting into the mid 1’43s in damp conditions, in addition to earning his first championship point by finishing 15th after starting from 26th on the grid.
