Tyco Suzuki’s Josh Waters bagged his best MCE British Superbike dry result of the year so far, in race three at Oulton Park, leaving him a very happy rider this weekend.
Still riding high after his Suzuka podium success, the Aussie has been making waves in BSB, starting with his first race win this year at Brands Hatch, and yesterday he proved that he has the pace to battle with the leading pack too.
Waters has clicked with his bike, and has been building up his confidence in the series, and now he wants to show that he is simply not just a wet weather specialist, but is pretty handy in the dry too.
“Race three was better and this is my best result in the dry and this weekend I have been up there too. Maybe it was because I have been here on the bike before - which might have helped a bit too,” said Waters, speaking to bikesportnews.com from the track.
“The mixed conditions are fine for me, and at the end I was doing dry times so it didn’t matter what the track was like. I thought I could challenge for the podium, and maybe I should have had a go and it was great to be battling with the top boys.
“I was always in the top ten, which was great and the bike is working well and things have clicked. After Suzuka and getting the podium my confidence has gone up, and I am enjoying riding the bike.”
