Quattro Kawasaki respond to Mason split

Gary Mason's former British Superbike team, Quattro Kawasaki, have responded to the Lichfield rider's statement with their own this evening.

From team boss John Jameson, it reads:

”We were discussing with Gary a contractual issue, but due to our TT commitments we were unable to meet Gary in the last week. The first I heard of Gary’s formal decision to leave the team was when I received a phone call informing me of his press release on Bikesport News.

“There are always two sides to a story, but I am very disappointed Gary is citing technical issues as part of his reason to leave the team. Regarding technical issues, all have been outside the team’s control and none due to budget or build quality.

“We have just come back from the TT, where we did not have a single issue with the Kawasaki Superbikes, both of which covered over a 1000 miles on reputedly one of the toughest circuit in the world.

"We will start looking for another rider over the next few days. Unfortunately, our plans for the Silverstone 200 race will have to be withdrawn, as Freddy is still recovering from his injury.”
