Repli-cast Racing's new signing Kasey Wyatt has completed his first test session with the team at Cartagena with team boss Gary Dawson saying he is heading in the right direction.
The teenager spent four days lapping on his British 125GP bike and made some quick progress on a track that is challenging and difficult to get right first time round.
“You can’t just jump on these things and go fast out of the box, it’s a learning process and you have to take one step on the ladder at a time. On top of that, this is a very hard circuit to learn - Kasey has probably taken three or four steps in the right direction", said Dawson.
Mentor Mark Smith-Halvorsen attended the test to focus on Wyatt’s riding technique, track position and finding a comfortable chassis set up. It was his one-to-one support that helped Kasey shave a further 4 seconds off his lap times.
“I can see that Kasey is in the right place and he can now see a little more of what is coming next. These four days have been invaluable in terms of understanding all of the components that make up the big picture. I think Kasey rode well, is adapting to the new things around him and will feature well this year at BSB GP125," he said.
