Seton Yamaha sign Aussie sensation Lawson

Seton Yamaha have swelled their ranks further by signing former Red Bull Rookie Andy Lawson to ride in the National Superstock 600 series for the next two years.

Lawson (no relation) has already gained a wealth of experience on the race track. Riding since the age of two, over the past four years Lawsonhas competed in domestic Australian 125GP and Supersport championships, and on the international scene in the esteemed Spanish 125GP championship, along with the Red Bull series.

“I have always watched BSB here on TV, and wished I lived in the UK to be able to race in it, it looks so professional and the place to be for exposure," said the 18-year-old, whose first race will be at Knockhill.

"I have known (Seton Supersport rider) Ben Burke since I started racing, and when his Dad told us about his ride, and we then started doing our research on Phil Seton and the team, we knew it would be the best team to be with if we ever had the opportunity.

"I can’t believe we now have this opportunity. Racing in the UK looks tough, with so many different tracks, and not knowing what weather conditions you will have, also being in a strange country makes it so exciting and I just can’t wait.”
