Sheene to make Supersport Evo debut with Quelch Afterdark

Freddie Sheene will make his Motorpoint British Supersport Evo debut after agreeing to ride with the Quelch Afterdark Motosport team for 2014.

The young Australian first raced at Donington Park towards the end of last year and scored a brace of podiums, so joins Josh Wainwright, Sandra Stammova, Josh Harland, Neil Greggory and James White in an expanded team.

Wainwright and Stammova will contest the MCE British Superbike series, with Karl Harris a possible guest rider, while White and Sheene are in the newly-created Supersport Evo class. Josh Harland will also ride for the team in the same class. That trio will also contest the CEV International Superstock 600 series with Stammova and Wainwright riding in the CEV Superbike series.

"It is a relief to be able to share this news as we have been working extremely hard through the winter break to get everything in place for the forthcoming season. We see this as a really strong line up and look forward to seeing all the riders battling it out on circuit," said team boss Mark Quelch.

"They will begin their testing programme soon and we all cannot wait for this year to finally get underway! We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our sponsors and partners for making this all possible."

Harris will contest Superbike CEV rounds and will also ride alongside Greggory in the team’s road race campaign, competing in the North West 200, Isle of Man and Ulster GP events on Kawasaki, Honda and Triumph machinery.
