Sorrymate.com Honda's Dan Linfoot has identified two areas to work on which, he believes, will allow him to run in the British Superbike top six regularly.
The Harrogate youngster showed his pace in race one at Oulton, staying in front of eventual winner Ryuichi Kiyonari until half-distance, but a lack of sidegrip and tyre wear - plus some arm-pump - saw him slip back to tenth.
"I am still learning the bike but to be able to run with the top six at the start of a race was mega. There are a couple of things we need to address in order to make it a more regular thing, the most important are sidegrip and tyre management," said Linfoot, speaking to bikesportnews.com this morning.
"We have secured a KR swingarm to use at Croft and I hope this will go some way to allowing me to get on the power earlier on corner exit, as well as running more entry speed, by stiffening the rear up. I also need to look after the tyres a bit better.
"The Pectel electronics we use are really top-notch but, because I'm not yet used to the bike over a race distance, I need to not cook the tyres from the start. I've got the pace to go with the front guys, I just need to be able to keep it for 20-odd laps."
