Silverstone BSB: Bridewell ‘struggling’ with race pace

Milwaukee Yamaha’s Tommy Bridewell felt that he ‘struggled’ to match the race pace set by his fellow MCE British Superbike riders in the free practice sessions today, and has described the afternoon as ‘difficult’ especially with the damp and changeable weather conditions.

The rider posted the tenth fastest time in the opening wet free practice, but could only set the thirteenth quickest time this afternoon. But this is only his second race weekend with the Milwaukee team, and is now ready to make an impact during qualifying.

“Today was difficult with the conditions and I am a bit far away from where I feel comfortable, but we have had a good talk through it in the garage and we have a plan for tomorrow to make some changes,” said Bridewell.

“At the start of the session this afternoon I felt better but as the conditions improved I just struggled to match the pace we needed to achieve, but generally it is ok and we shouldn’t be here for very long.”
