Tyco Suzuki’s PJ Jacobsen will start tomorrow’s opening MCE British Superbike race at Silverstone on the front row, after putting in some fast times during qualifying that in the end placed him third fastest, just behind Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki’s Shane Byrne and Samsung Honda’s Alex Lowes.
The 20-year-old BSB rookie is looking to add a Silverstone podium to the one he collected at Assen just a fortnight ago, and is pleased with how consistent he has been throughout this weekend. The diminutive New Yorker did experience some grip issues, but that did not seem to faze him too much, as he continues his good run of form in the series.
“I think Silverstone really suits me a lot and it is a really fast flowing track. I made a couple mistakes on my fastest lap, and I think we will try and get a bit more grip as we struggled with that a bit. We will sort that out in morning warm up tomorrow,” said Jacobsen at the track.
"We’ve been really consistent so far this weekend and it’s a good way to follow up the Assen podium. It will be nice to start with a clear track ahead of me. I need to make the most of the position and see how it goes from there, but thanks to the team for giving me a great bike out there today.”
