Qualifying three
Michael Laverty 2'05.056
John Hopkins 2'05.133
Josh Brookes 2'05.511
Swan Yamaha's Michael Laverty has taken his second British Superbike pole position of the year at Silverstone this afternoon, edging out the injured John Hopkins by less than a tenth of a second with Relentless Suzuki's Josh Brookes in third.
Injured Michael Rutter rode through the pain barrier to bag the last front row spot despite having broken ribs with Tommy Hill in fifth which won't please the championship leader. Jon Kirkham is sixth, Martin Jessopp seventh despite an off, Peter Hickman eighth, Graeme Gowland's Evo WFR Honda's in ninth and Dan Linfoot rounding out the top ten.
Qualifying two
Michael Laverty 2'05.343
Josh Brookes 2'05.759
Tommy Hill 2'05.787
Sensationally, both Shane Byrne and Ryuichi Kiyonari fell at the second hurdle and didn't make it through to the final stage of qualifying and they will start from 13th and 16th on the grid respectively. Brookes found a lap from nowhere to go second fastest behind the spectacular Laverty.
Gowland was the only Evo rider to make it through to the final session but his team-mate Glen Richards was only excluded by 0.037 seconds as Linfoot just leapfrogged the Aussie with his last lap.
