MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Ian Lowry is now a lot more comfortable with his ZX-10R after a full day's testing ahead of this weekend's British Superbike round at the Northamptonshire track saw him able to get to grips with his setup.
The young Ulsterman made his debut with the team at Donington Park but had to spend several session getting comfortable on the bike and then sorting out setup, he didn't fully get to grips with the fast Kawasaki. He says now, though, it feels like his own bike and he can get down to some proper laptimes.
"Donington was a test, in all honesty, but we did some good work there and we've done some really good work since. The bike feels like my own now and it's great to be a bunch of lads who can't do enough for you - it really makes a difference," said Lowry, speaking to bikesportnews.com at Silverstone.
"By the end of it I felt like I was on the pipe and I am confident this weekend. We have got some good setup data from Donington Park now so we should have a great starting point in the morning."
