Round 11 of the Relentless 125 British Championship saw Sam Hornsey #94 join the team as part of the build up to his full time ride in 2010.
Sam was riding his new bike at a track he had never rode before. Sam was told to just use the meeting to get used to the bike and the track and to have fun but on lap 6 of the 2nd practice session oil was lost from William Dunlop’s KRP bike which unfortunately brought down 7 of the following riders, one of which was Sam and although no injuries were received he was slightly shook up and which knocked the 15 year olds confidence.
However he pushed on through out the rest of the weekend and impressed the team with his excellent feedback and commitment shown which was one of the main reasons Sam was picked to join the team full time for 2010.
Sam Qualified 30th and stalled the bike at the start and left the grid in very last place but fought back hard to finish a very creditable 21st overall and 6th in the125GP Cup
Kasey Wyatt #99 the 15 year from London began the first practice session pushing for faster lap times and all was going well until he crashed out at the very fast first corner. Badly beaten up the brave youngster would not take the advice of the team and carried on the weekend pushing harder and harder with every lap until disaster struck in qualifying 2 where again he crashed really hard on a lap time that would have put him up around 12th place if he had made it to the flag as it was the last lap and so unfortunate for the hard-working Team apprentice.
He was taken to the medical centre where he received attention for ankle and wrist injury's and again even tried to race by using morning warm up as a test but the pain was too much in his wrist and the team advised another visit to the medical centre where it was discovered he had damaged the cruciate ligament in his wrist and was ruled out of the Race by the Medical Centre.
The whole team were very proud of Kasey's hard work and commitment shown this weekend.
Adam Blacklock #52 once again impressed the Team with his hard work shown in qualifying but unfortunately while lying in 10th place crashed out of the race on lap 9 of 14 & was taken to the medical centre where he was diagnosed with a suspected broken ankle and placed in a plaster cast and advised to seek a further x-ray when the swelling goes down .
Adam now lies equal second in the Cup Championships and we all wait for the hospital results as if fit the final race at Oulton Park will be one not to be missed as Adam needs to fight with Dean Brown for the runner up honours that he more than deserves
The Team were proud to be joined at the weekend by TT Legend Ian Lougher #2 as a tribute shown towards the injured Team Rider Robbie Stewart and finished a very creditable 13th place and the Team wish to thank him for all his help over the weekend and wish him well in all of his upcoming races. A pure Legend.
