BLDS Couriers/Close Print’s Craig Fitzpatrick’s season looks to be back on track after finishing sixth in the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship round at Snetterton this weekend, almost matching his best result of fifth place so far this season.
The 2008 British Supersport Cup champion moved up to the main series this year and currently sits joint ninth overall on 30 points including two non scoring rounds. 
Fitzpatrick said: “It’s been quite an eventful season, from the beginning we had a few problems but I was happy with the bike.  At Donington I crashed in qualifying, I also suffered from clutch problems all weekend and had to borrow one.  This wasn’t quite right and on the start line I felt it going, but I couldn't hold it.  I jumped forwarded getting a jump start."
"After I did the ride through I decided to pull in and save some money as I was well out of the points.  Things got worse at Thruxton as I had no mechanics and looking back I also had no faith that weekend.  I couldn’t focus of my riding all I was thinking was, had I done this, had I done that.  This was when I was trying to ride.”
After an tannoy announcement made at the circuit Fitzpatrick was inundated with applications of which he one was chosen in time for Snetterton.  Talking about what must be the Alfreton's rider comeback, he said: "I try not to focus on positions especially when you are up against factory teams."
"This weekend was about seeing if we could gel as a team, I also have one of my original mechanics back with me. It all seems to be working out great.  I am really looking forward to Knockhill we went there testing before we went to Snetterton and it went well.  I am a lot happier now.”
