Snetterton BSB: Free practice a 'positive learning curve' for Reid

Tyco BMW’s newest recruit, Andy Reid is relishing his time in the MCE British Superbike class, and the rookie made his debut appearance on the S1000RR during the free practice sessions at Snetterton today.

The Northern Irishman admitted that the Superbike felt a bit ‘alien’ to him at first, but this is his first taste of experiencing 200 brake horse power and it is a case of so far so good for Reid.

The sessions today were a positive learning curve for the former Dickies British Supersport star, and even though it is a new package, new team and crew, Reid is adapting well and is most importantly enjoying his time on the Superbike, especially after nine months of no track action at all.

“It is a great atmosphere in the garage and everyone is positive. In perspective we are actually doing really well because this is our second session in nine months and on a bike that is completely alien to me” said Reid, speaking to bikesportnews.com.

“It is a whole new package and a whole new crew, and it is so positive and it is a massive learning curve and I am really enjoying it. To be honest we are making massive chunks out of every session.

“I just have to get closer to the top guys, and I am learning every session. I have no issues with self belief and this is a fantastic package. There is a lot of power and you are going from 132 brake horse power to 200 plus horse power and the bike weighs a bit more and I am learning the characteristics of it.”
