EPayMe Yamaha’s Stuart Easton made more progress with the Yamaha R1 at yesterday’s Snetterton MCE British Superbike test and continued to use Pirelli’s hard-compound SC2 front tyre which he first tried at Brands Hatch last time out.
The Hawick rider got some desperately-needed track time, making some chassis changes and said that he feels a lot more comfortable with the bike as the tyre allows him to find grip right to the end of a turn, where the SC1 doesn't.
“I feel a lot better on the bike than I did at the start of the season. Although it may not look like it on the timesheet. We left the SC2 in from Brands and it has its positives as well as its negatives and it’s down to rider preference but for me it was a big turning point,” Easton told bikesportnews.com.
“I didn’t go any faster in the last session but we made some changes and were reverting back so I was happy to break into a 1’49s lap and I am looking forward to coming back here and starting off where we finished today.”
