Shane Byrne and Stuart Easton both reckon they are happy to be able to run at the front of the British Superbike pack now that two races in dry weather have proved their setups will work but Byrne said he was a little disappointed not to win at Thruxton.
The two-time BSB champion led for much of the second race, only for Josh Brookes to come through from the back to win while Tommy Hill just stayed ahead. Easton, who is still getting bike and race distance fit, did enough to secure sixth in the title standings.
"It's frustrating to lead for much of the race and not to win but I'm reasonably happy with the results. We have made great improvements and have proved we are capable of running at the front so hope we can get a winning run underway at Oulton Park," said Byrne.
Easton added: "I'm pleased with how this weekend has gone and we have learned a lot, not least I can mix it with the leaders so despite feeling a bit stiff, I'm happy with a fourth and fifth place. We'll be stronger at Oulton and so will the bike."
