CN Racing's Matthew Hartley is thrilled to be given the opportunity to ride for the team in the Sunoco 125GP Cup Championship as he's ventures out on track at Thruxton this weekend for the fourth round of the season.

The Worsthorne rider is an inspiration to others, not just due to his racing ability but also regarding his attitude and approach in dealing with the condition cystic fibrosis that he has been diagnosed with. Talking to www.bikesportnews.com he said: 'I don't think about it and it doesn't effect me, I don't worry about it.' Immediately demonstrating his determined character.

The 18 year old started his racing career in motocross and trials, taking a championship along the way before moving into Superteens last year. Even though Hartley originally wanted to join the 125cc category at British level this year it was looking like he would have to move to a 600cc club championship due to funding.  Fortunately for all CN Racing provided a great opportunity for both him and his teammate whos infact his younger brother Harry.

Reviewing the three rounds so far, Hartley said: 'I am quite happy, but not doing as good as I wanted to because of bike problems at the moment. I had a bad crash at Brands Hatch so I am trying to get my confidence back up. I just want to finish every race, I am just getting my confidence back and will do some testing. We will get the bike sorted for tomorrow and hopefully get better laptimes.'

When asked one last question of was he enjoying being in this series, he said: 'It's good in the paddock, a lot better than being out on the streets,' as he cheekily laughed.
