JG Speedfit Kawasaki’s James Ellison has broken his left wrist after crashing in the opening MCE British Superbike race at Thruxton.
The Cumbrian and Showdown contender was caught out on oil spilt from the Anvil Hire TAG Racing machine of Richard Cooper and crashed at Church, after only four laps.
He was taken to the medical centre for further assessment, but fortunately for the former MotoGP man it was a clean break and he will now under go an operation next week.
“James sustained a broken left wrist, but it was a clean break and he will hopefully be having an operation over the next few days. When he has had surgery his team will decide on a comeback round for him,” said a team spokesman, speaking to bikesportnews.com, at the track.
