Milwaukee Yamaha’s Tommy Bridewell was pushing as hard as he could at his home circuit of Thruxton during the second MCE British Superbike free practice session this afternoon, but he still feels he can get more out of the bike for the double header on Sunday.
In the end Bridewell upped the pace to lead the chasing pack by 0.03 seconds edging ahead Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki’s Shane Byrne in the timesheets. Now the Devizes rider wants to emulate his good pace in both qualifying and the races, to reach the podium once again.
“Today has been good, we were second this morning and it was a good start. We made some minimal changes after FP1 as I said to the team I felt comfortable on the bike so there is no point on making major changes,” said Bridewell.
“This afternoon I just pushed a little bit harder so I am really happy with the way the bike and the team are working. It is a long weekend though and anything can happen so we just have to keep our feet on the floor and I believe that there is still quite a bit of time left in me and the bike. We now just have got to keep our head down and keep working as it is the races that count.”
