Thruxton BSB: Improvements to bike worked for Harry Hartley

CN Racing's Harry Hartley, in his debut season, currently sits an overall fourth in the Sunoco British 125GP Cup Championship standings and 5th in the main as he returns to track this weekend at the Hampshire circuit of Thruxton.

Along with his brother and teammate Matthew, as an individual and rider is a good addition to the BSB paddock and already has been an interesting addition to frantic battles that never disappoint. Talking to www.bikesportnews.com he gave a review of his racing history and 2010 season so far, Harry said:

'I started racing about seven years old on mini-motos, did two and half seasons on mini-moto then went onto 50cc GP bike.'

'I did that for a year, Superteens for two years and now we are here. It's not as tough as I expected, I thought I would be building up and building up to get to the front, but we've hit it at the front. We have to work on the bikes, they are not the fastest and I am a heavier rider. The bikes have got a lot faster this weekend, it's gone from 14th in the speedtrap to third. Just in two sessions.”

Hartley took third place in the opening round of the season, his first race at British level, followed by a sixth and 12th in the following two rounds.  This puts him 20 points behind the championship leader and 13 in the cup.

This weekend in the first two practice sessions Hartley started out as the 9th fastest rider, 5th in the cup before having an impressive leap to the 4th, 3rd in the cup. Not only does this prove that the improvements to his Honda have worked but also that his ambition to finish in the top five overall this year is certainly a possibility and that he is most definitely a rider to watch.
