Quattro Plant Kawasaki’s Dan Linfoot had his best race results of the season so far, after he nabbed two top four finishes during the MCE British Superbike double-header at Thruxton this weekend.
The Yorkshire dessert-dodger started on the front row, and on pole for the first time in race two, and twice he was dicing for the victory with Milwaukee Yamaha’s Josh Brookes, Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki’s Shane Byrne and Buildbase BMW’s Ryuichi Kiyonari.
In the end the Northerner just missed out on a double podium, but Linfoot is still smiling and is now back in the Showdown, and is joint fifth in the overall championship standings with GBmoto Kawasaki’s Chris Walker.
“It is good that I could make some passes and I got past Shakey and Josh. In the early part of the race I was doing well,” said Linfoot, speaking to bikesportnews.com at the Hampshire circuit.
“I am joint fifth with Chris Walker, and I have moved back into the Showdown, which is where I want to be, so I have a big smile on my face going into Oulton. But after two fourth place finishes, I just want to do better now, but I am pleased.”
