Honda Racing’s Jenny Tinmouth is still on a huge learning curve with the works-spec Fireblade she campaigns in this year’s MCE British Superbike series but is learning to concentrate on her weak points instead of relying on strong ones.
Tinmouth, who is the only female race in the blue riband class, says it is all too easy to race relying on the parts of her riding that are strong instead of looking at the weaker parts but it is beginning to pay off as she moved through the pack at Snetterton.
“I still have a lot to learn. I am still trying to carry too much corner speed instead of getting it stopped, turn it and get it out of the corner but I am getting there,” said Tinmouth, speaking to bikesportnews.com on her way to Knockhill.
“When I crashed at Snetterton, I was going in much faster than Jason (O’Halloran, team-mate) had been doing so it’s not a surprise really. But I had made up places in the race as I find it better to chase people.
"I like Knockhill as it is a bit old school, a real rollercoaster, so I am looking forward to it."
