Tommy Bridewell and Honda Racing UK have parted ways

Tommy Bridewell and Honda Racing UK will not be continuing together in British Superbikes for a third season.

After two seasons together in the British Superbike paddock, Tommy Bridewell and Honda Racing UK have parted ways ahead of the 2026 season.

Bridewell joined Honda as the reigning British Superbike Champion in 2024, and he fought for the title in his debut year on the CBR1000RR-R. However, his second year with the team was not as successful as he finished fourth in the Championship and was not in the title fight.

It has now been confirmed by Honda Racing UK that Bridewell and the team will not continue together for a third season. This means the team will field a completely new line-up for 2026, as both Bridewell and Andrew Irwin have departed.

A statement from Honda Racing UK reads:

"Following two successful seasons racing together in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship, Honda Racing and Tommy Bridewell have decided to conclude their collaboration.

"Bridewell joined the Louth-based team in 2024 as the reigning British Superbike Champion to race the then all-new Fireblade. Rider and machine quickly gelled, and visits to the rostrum came with remarkable frequency. Come the season’s end, Tommy celebrated nineteen podiums in total, including three impressive victories. More impressive still was the incredible championship battle that raged to the last lap of the last race of the season with fellow countryman Kyle Ryde. Whilst the championship fairytale was not to be for Bridewell, second place in the 2024 series standings by a single point showed that he and the Fireblade were a formidable pairing.

"His sophomore year for Honda Racing, too, yielded success with a race victory at Honda’s home venue, Cadwell Park, as well as a further five podium finishes.

"Honda Racing extends its sincere thanks to Tommy Bridewell for all of his hard work throughout the last two seasons together."

Ryan Vickers has signed with Honda Racing UK for 2026, but his teammate is unknown at this time. It is also unknown where Bridewell will end up next season.
