Former Motorpoint Yamaha British Superbike man James Westmoreland has signed up to ride for the WFR Evo squad until the end of the season and will concentrate on developing the team's 2012 bike.
Westmoreland split with Rob Mac's outfit for a variety of reasons but WFR boss Myles Schofield believes the former British 125 Championship runner-up is ideally placed as he has great circuit knowledge and can, along with Graeme Gowland, assist Glen Richards to take the Evo title.
"It's an exciting time as I have seen the bike on track and I'm very impressed with what it can do. I will also be back working with my crew chief from two years ago, Colin Davies. We were at Raceways Yamaha together and it will be great to be with him again," said Westmoreland, speaking to bikesportnews.com.
"I think it's a great opportunity for the last three rounds of the championship. The team have proven they're more than capable of taking race wins, and more than likely the championship, so we can look ahead with no small measure of confidence."
