WIND HALTS BRITISH SUPERBIKE TESTING AT ALMERIA

High winds have put paid to any serious testing for British Superbike teams at Almeria today with only HM Plant Honda's Glen Richards and Josh Brookes doing any more than a sighting lap.

Hydrex Honda's Karl Harris and Stuart Easton remained in their garages, as did Crescent Suzuki's Sylvain Guintoli. John McGuinness went out for a couple of laps on the Padgetts Honda but team-mate Steve Brogan remained in the warm.

"It has been so windy here you wouldn't beliweve. We had a good day yesterday with Karl lapping in the 1.38s but today has been a total write-off because it's too dangerous to do any times," said Hydrex crew chief Mick Shanley.

"After yesterday, we thought we would be able to start doing some proper work on the electronics and sort out things like the GPS but we haven't been able to do a thing.

"We can't even sit in the truck and watch telly because it's so windy, it is threatening to rip the satellite dish off the roof."

The forecast at Almeria is better for the next two days and the test has been extended to Saturday because of the weather conditions. The teams will then move to Guadix.
