Former AIR Racing rider Josh Day is on the hunt for a new seat after the team collapsed, leaving him with no cash and little in the way of good prospects to see the season out.
Day moved straight from the Metzeler National Superstock 600 series into the Evo class this year on a Kawasaki ZX-10R and did nothing to disgrace himself, dicing with the likes of Scott Smart and Graeme Gowland in the recent Oulton Park meeting.
"This year has been very frustrating for me and now I find myself mid- season with no cash and no ride. I’m now looking to secure backing and a competitive machine, with a supportive team to rebuild my confidence. I want to get back out there and challenge for podiums again in the Superbike Evo, Superstock 1000 or Supersport class," said Day.
"Although I only had very limited time available at the BSB meetings I haven’t been a million miles away from the other Evo riders. At Oulton Park I had to learn the track for the first time on the 200bhp Superbike while the other riders had the round there earlier this year.
"It’s a shame this has happened with the team after positive performances but now I’m just praying that I can find something to carry on. Obviously, I would love to be given a proper shot in the Evo championship because I honestly think that I could challenge for podiums. I really hope this doesn’t mean the end of my season and really I want to be back as soon as possible."
