Pedro Acosta looks set to be a MotoGP front-runner in 2025, but there are still 'big concerns' surrounding the 20-year-old.
Ahead of the 2025 MotoGP season, a 'big concern' regarding Pedro Acosta has been highlighted.
Acosta became a MotoGP superstar during his rookie season in 2024 with the Red Bull GasGas Tech3 squad. However, there are still weaknesses to the young Spaniard's racecraft as he crashed out of promising positions multiple times last year.
This weakness has carried over to the 2025 season as Acosta found himself crashing multiple times during the Buriram MotoGP Test. Across the two days, it was reported that he crashed three times, causing concern about his title aspirations.
“My big concern with Acosta is that he has already crashed three times in preseason,” Dorna’s Jack Appleyard reported in Buriram.
“I wonder if his desire to win, his hunger, will outmatch the ability of the bike.
“He’ll be there, he’ll compete, he’ll challenge. But he’ll be right on the ragged edge, right on the edge.
“I think we will see crashes in key moments because he won’t be a rider to settle.”
KTM goes all in with four factory riders
KTM has upgraded their roster for the 2025 season as they have produced four factory specification machines.
The Austrian manufacturer and Tech3 have continued their close relationship and formed two factory teams.
Acosta will ride for the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team alongside Brad Binder. Whereas the Red Bull KTM Tech3 Team will field Enea Bastianini and Maverick Vinales.
