Trackhouse Racing have confirmed that Ai Ogura has undergone surgery on a fracture in his right leg.

Ai Ogura has undergone successful surgery on a leg fracture and believes that he will be able to participate next weekend at the Aragon Grand Prix.

The Japanese rider fractured the top of his tibia on his right leg last weekend in Free Practice One at the British Grand Prix. Ogura went on to complete one further Practice lap around the Silverstone Circuit before abandoning the rest of the weekend.

Trackhouse Racing confirmed on Wednesday evening that Ogura has undergone successful surgery on his leg injury, and the American team hope he will recover in time for the Aragon Grand Prix.

“The surgery is done," Ogura said.

"I think everything went quite well and I feel pretty OK with my knee. I just need a bit of time to get back to 100% fitness.

"It’s quite difficult and we will see if I can make it to Aragon. I’m trying to do what I can to recover my leg but, in situations like these, you can’t do too much. I will just do what I can and prepare for the next race."

The 2025 MotoGP season has been Ogura's rookie year in the premier class on the Aprilia RS-GP in the Trackhouse Racing squad.

His best result so far in his rookie season has been a fifth place at the opening round of the season in Thailand. Although his results have slightly slipped in more recent rounds, he still finds himself 12th in the Championship.

Trackhouse won't have to replace Ogura for the Aragon Grand Prix if he proves unfit to compete. However, if he is out any longer they may run into issues as Aprilia's test rider, Lorenzo Savadori, is still replacing Jorge Martin in the Aprilia Racing garage.
