Aron Canet will remain in the Moto2 World Championship as he has signed for the ELF Marc VDS Racing Team.
After several rumours suggesting that Aron Canet would make the switch to the World Superbike Championship in 2026, he has decided to remain in Moto2.
However, the Spaniard has decided to leave the Fantic Racing Lino Sonego squad after two years in the Italian squad.
The Spaniard has opted to switch across to the ELF Marc VDS Racing Team for the 2026 season as he has signed a multi-year deal with the Belgian squad.
"I'm delighted to join such an experienced and successful team as Marc VDS for the next three years," Canet said.
"It's an honour for me to sign a long-term agreement with a team that has a proven record of success in Moto2 and their commitment to win matches mine.
"I believe this is the start of an exciting partnership between us, and while now I'm focused on my 2025 season, I'm also motivated to start this new chapter in 2026."
"I'm so happy to welcome Aron to the team," said Marc VDS team boss, Marc Van Der Straten.
"He is a proven winner with fighting spirit, so he will be a great addition. He shows the determination and speed we want in a rider, so 2026 and beyond will be a very exciting time.
"I'm looking forward to him fighting at the front in our colours and take it to the top step."
As it stands in the 2025 Moto2 World Championship standings, Canet finds himself second for the Fantic Racing Lino Sonego squad.
The 25-year-old has had a successful season with a race win and four further podiums to his name across 12 Grands Prix.
