Fabio Quartararo and Yamaha are in a tough situation at the moment after an eleventh place finish at Mugello.

Fabio Quartararo and Yamaha have not reached their 2021 heights in the last two seasons, with this year being the hardest of their partnership.

The French rider joined Yamaha in 2019 and has won one MotoGP World Championship in the four years he has spent with them.

However, this year has seen Yamaha have their worst season in a long time. Currently Quartararo is eighth in the Championship with one podium to his name.

Mugello summed up the situation Quartararo is in at Yamaha as he finished 10th and was beaten by his team-mate, Franco Morbidelli.

After the race Quartararo had this to say about his tough weekend at the Italian Grand Prix.

"We couldn’t make a great race today. I noticed already in the morning that I was not feeling so great on the bike.

"The tyre choice also didn’t work out. We should have gone with the soft rear tyre instead of the medium for the race.

"We are having a tough moment. Let’s see what we can do at the Sachsenring."

Before the weekend Fabio Quartararo announced that he would be parting ways from his manager, Eric Mahe. The pair had been together for the last seven years.

This had led fans to speculate whether Quartararo is unhappy enough at Yamaha to be parting ways with the manufacturer he won his 2021 MotoGP world title with at the end of 2024.

Up next for MotoGP is the German and the Dutch Grands Prix, which are races Quartararo has been successful at in the past.

However, with the state of the current Yamaha M1 it seems like Quartararo will likely struggle again for the next two weeks.
