'I always have the potential to win' - Jorge Martin

Gold and Goose

Having not won at Aragon in MotoGP yet Jorge Martin is eager to change that this weekend.

Ahead of the Aragon Grand Prix, Jorge Martin was asked about whether he can win this weekend. If Martin can claim victory in Aragon then it would be Martin's first ever MotoGP win at Aragon throughout his career.

The Spanish rider has not stood on the top step of the podium in a main race since Le Mans. This is something that Martin is desperate to change at a circuit he has not won at before in MotoGP.

"Let's see! It has been a long time since Le Mans," Martin said. "I feel strong, and I always have the potential to win.

"The last two weekends I was more conservative trying to get more points, and Pecco was on an amazing level in Austria. But this weekend it is complicated, these three guys here with me (Pecco Bagnaia, Marc Marquez and Enea Bastianini) have all won here in MotoGP. But I have only won here in Moto3, I am the one missing so hopefully I can change that here."

In Austria Martin lost the lead in the Championship after he was beaten by Bagnaia. As he is now five points behind he was questioned about where he lacks compared to Pecco in the Championship fight.

"It is really difficult," Martin stated. "I think Pecco is on a really good level, he improved a lot in his less strong points compared to me. So I am still missing something to improve on him. It is difficult, I hope to enjoy this battle until the end and I hope to have the chance to until the end."
