For the ninth time this season, Marc Marquez was able to take victory in the Sprint Race on the factory Ducati.

Marc Marquez struggled on Friday at the TT Circuit Assen as he suffered two big crashes during the two Practice sessions.

The Spaniard then decided to take it easy in Qualifying as his body could not take another crash. But despite starting from fourth place, he was able to take the lead early on.

After hitting the front, Marquez did not look back as he went on to claim his ninth Sprint Race win of the 2025 season.

"Today we breathe," Marquez said after winning the Sprint Race at the TT Circuit Assen.

"We breathe a lot during the qualifying Practice, especially because my body cannot accept another big crash like yesterday.

"Today, I was calm, and I tried to control the situation. It is true that I did not expect to get the victory in the Sprint, but I got into first I defended.

"I tried not to make any big mistakes, don't exaggerate, but don't do any big mistakes.

"Let's see tomorrow if we can manage Turn Three, 11, and 12 as they are my weak points here at this circuit."

Marquez was joined on the Sprint Race podium by his younger brother, Alex Marquez, who finished in second and Marco Bezzecchi in third on the Aprilia.

The 32-year-old has now extended his Championship lead by a further three points over his brother, Marquez now holds a 43-point lead over the BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP rider.

Marquez will remain as the favourite for the Grand Prix on Sunday, but the eight-time Champion has not taken a Grand Prix victory at the TT Circuit Assen since the 2018 MotoGP season.
