Manuel Gonzalez impressed the Trackhouse Racing garage in his one-off MotoGP test with the team at MotorLand Aragon.
At the Aragon MotoGP Test on Monday, Manuel Gonzalez was given the chance to test the Aprilia RS-GP in the Trackhouse Racing garage.
The Moto2 World Championship leader was replacing the injured reigning Moto2 World Champion, Ai Ogura.
During the one-day test, Gonzalez was able to complete 87 laps on board the Aprilia. At the end of the day, the Spaniard had impressed Trackhouse Racing Team Manager, Davide Brivio.
However, the Italian insists that there is 'nothing beyond this test' between Trackhouse and Gonzalez, and the test was a 'gift'.
"It's good, it's funny to have this type of activity and experience," Brivio told MotoGP.com after the Aragon Test.
"To see a young rider get their first experience on a MotoGP bike, to see the excitement and the smile and this sort of thing.
"He got up to speed quickly, quicker than we expected. It went well, he was able to understand the MotoGP bike and could give us some comments. Of course, they are different tyres and carbon discs, but the usual things that we know.
"We had a small crash at Turn Two, kind of a classic here at Aragon, but apart from that, everything was ok. He tried a practice start, which was something to set up, but I mean, he did a little bit of everything.
"I think we were able to give him an idea of what MotoGP is, what it means to ride a MotoGP bike, and also the physical point of view.
"But it is interesting because you get this type of guy, the good guy, the talented guy, like Ai, him [Gonzalez] and Fermin [Aldeguer], they jump on the bike and they know how to ride.
"It is nice, and we are happy and so proud as Trackhouse to give this present, there is nothing beyond this test. We had a bike free, Ai could not ride unfortunately, so we decided to do something nice and give a gift."
