At MotorLand Aragon Jake Dixon claimed his second Grand Prix victory of the season, bringing him into Championship contention.

For the second time in the 2024 Moto2 season, Jake Dixon is a Grand Prix winner again. Dixon took his first win of the year at his home race in Silverstone and doubled up at Aragon.

The British rider started the Aragon Grand Prix from pole position after setting a sensational lap time. But when the race began Dixon looked like the man to beat and the rider with the most pace.

After the race, Dixon was asked whether he expected to be the top man on Sunday at MotorLand Aragon.

"No, honestly I knew Tony (Arbolino) was going to be fast. But I don't know what I really expected it was difficult," Dixon said.

"I was panicking a lot on the grid and in the first few laps I was pretty tentative in the lead. I didn't want to make a mistake I said to Sarah this morning that I was so nervous to make a mistake. We knew the track conditions were going to be so difficult. I was laying in bed until nine just watching the Red Bull Rookies to see what the conditions were like. It was a difficult race, but in the end I had that little bit more so I could push and fight. I went into myself and found them extra couple of tenths that I needed in that moment."

"Anything is possible..." - Jake Dixon

This second race win has launched Dixon into fifth place in the Championship standings, only 43 points off of Sergio Garcia in first. Despite the gap, Dixon believes that anything can still happen and that he can challenge for the title.

"Anything is possible, there is so long to go," Dixon stated. "As I said we have got to keep working the way we are working. I am riding well, me and the team are working great together.

"But you never know in this game, things can turn around pretty quickly. I will keep my feet on the ground, keep working and keep pushing in every session."

With eight races left in the 2024 season, there are 200 points left on offer. If Dixon can keep his momentum going he could become the 2024 Moto2 World Champion if he continues to outscore his rivals.

"I am living the dream!" - Jake Dixon

The start of Dixon's 2024 season was extremely difficult as he did not score a single point in the first five rounds. But now he has two race wins and three extra podiums and claims he is 'living the dream'.

"I am living the dream. To come from such a difficult start to the season to living the dream," Dixon said.

"It has always been my dream but in moments of toughness you always have to dig deep and find the passion again, and the drive again. In tough times you can find that you can do anything in life. There are several people who have taught me how to get through the tough times in life. My wife is my role model, she is my everything, and she has taught me so many valuable lessons.

"I am truly living my absolute dream. I couldn't even imagine when I was a kid being in the position I am in. Being from the UK we don't necessarily get the backing that some others do. You have to have grit, determination and focus, if you've got all those things you will be able to reach the top. I am just a young lad living the absolute dream."
