Red Bull KTM’s Danny Kent is close to being added to the increasingly-British but still a bit French Tech 3 Moto2 outfit for the 2013 World Championship. Kent is the favourite of a three-man shortlist Tech 3 boss Herve Poncharal has written out, which includes Moto3 race winner Louis Rossi and Bradley Smith’s current teammate Xavier Simeon.
If the decision is finalised, the Tech3 team will have three British riders in its four man Moto2 and MotoGP team, with Cal Crutchlow and Bradley Smith already signed on for next year’s MotoGP.
Whilst on Radio Silverstone’s On2Wheels show, Kent said, “I am far too big for a Moto3 bike now and I will be looking to move up to Moto2 for next year. Although I can’t say a lot at this stage, after talks with Herve at Brno, it is becoming more likely by the second that I will be on a Tech 3 bike for the 2013 season.”
