KTM showed off their 2025 RC16 prototype at the Misano Test as Brad Binder and Pedro Acosta got to try the the bike for the first time.
At the one day Misano Test after the San Marino Grand Prix KTM rolled out a prototype of their 2025 machine. The Austrian manufacturer have been in MotoGP since 2017 and are still chasing their first MotoGP title.
However, the 2025 Red Bull KTM Factory Racing riders of Brad Binder and Pedro Acosta were hands on with their bike for next season. Pol Espargaro has been leading the development of the 2025 bike, the same machine he used at the San Marino Grand Prix.
Binder tested the full prototype during the test as he is the most established KTM rider for the 2025 season. The South African believes that there are positives and negatives to the new bike.
"So far so good," Binder said after the test. "I have only done two exits on Pol's bike so we are still trying to figure it out a little bit.
"The first feelings are quite positive, it is a little bit different for sure. Some points are good and some are bad, but like anything it will just take a bit of time to get used to."
"We tried many things so lets be happy and hopeful!"
Whereas Acosta, who is still a MotoGP rookie, slowly upped the testing that he did during the day. It seems like the Spaniard was not given the full version of the 2025 machine, but rather individual parts.
"I am super happy with how the whole test went," Acosta said after his first test as a factory MotoGP rider. "We tried many things, and overall I am happy because these things are helping us for this season. Let's see and watch what is going on and when these things will come."
"To be honest I don't know I tried many things. Also there were three bikes in the box which is the first time I have seen that. Anyway, we tried many things so lets be happy and hopefully we can use that for the next GP."
