The newly crowned MotoGP World Champion reacts to his latest injuries from a collision at the Indonesian Grand Prix.

Marc Marquez told the media that he is 'sad' to have suffered injuries to his right collarbone after being taken out of the Indonesian Grand Prix by Marco Bezzecchi.

On the opening lap of the MotoGP race, Marquez had launched himself from ninth on the grid to fifth place on track. However, he was then taken out by Bezzecchi at Turn Seven, who was trying to make up ground after another poor start.

After both riders rolled through the gravel, Marquez appeared to be in pain and was diagnosed with a fracture to his right collarbone at the MotoGP medical centre. He also revealed that it is believed he has suffered ligament damage in the incident.

Marquez is expected to fly to Madrid on Sunday evening to further evaluate the injuries and his recovery process.

"So, not the best way to celebrate the championship," Marquez told the media after leaving the medical centre.

"Looks like this Mandalika GP has been a bit difficult, but today I started to feel better and better, especially in the warm-up.

"We did a big step, and the race I cannot say [what was possible] because [I only did] five, six corners. It’s true that I’m sad because I have some injury in my right collarbone. But from a race incident.

"In the end, Marco Bezzecchi already came to me and said sorry. This happens. It’s something that sometimes I will do, sometimes somebody else will do, but it was not on purpose. So, Marco accepts it was his fault.

"Let’s see if we can fly as soon as possible to Madrid and try to understand with the doctors exactly what I have and try to come back as soon as possible, but inside the limits of the recovery."
